The Rise and Triumph of the Modern Self: Cultural Amnesia, Expressive Individualism, and the Road to Sexual Revolution by Carl R. Trueman
I’m calling it at just over 100 pages. This book is way more academic and dense than I anticipated. I borrowed it from the library and there is no way I’m going to be able to read this and retain anything meaningful in the week before it’s due back. There is so much to unpack here, but without being able to discuss within a group, I feel like it’s a lot of information that I’m not sure what to do with. Maybe at another point I can pick this back up and see where the author takes the rest of the book, but I’m going to table it for now.
