I love a Christmas story and I love a good mystery story so when I read the blurb for this book and realised it was two in one I was really excited to get started – and I loved every minute of it! It’s definitely one of those ‘don’t judge a book by its cover’ types of books’ because I probably would have passed it by but I am really glad I gave it a chance. There was danger, romance, and mystery at the turn of every page. I found the authors writing style to be really engaging and exciting. I haven’t read anything by this author previously and as this is the second book in this series I will definitely be checking out book 1 as well.
Whilst I am not a fan of the circus at all, the thought of animals being made to perform is just awful in my mind, I did really feel for Justine, it’s all she has ever known and she obviously really cared for the animals, especially Rexus.
I really liked Tom, he had this brooding quality about him and I loved reading about and watching the relationship between him and Justine unfold.
Definitely a good read that I highly recommend.
