This was a fun, fairly light office romance that was both funny and interesting. I've always really liked this author, and although it wasn't my favorite of hers (that will likely always be [b:Reasonable Doubt: Full Series|23127232|Reasonable Doubt Full Series (Reasonable Doubt, #1-3.25)|Whitney G.|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1429805735s/23127232.jpg|42675478]), I still enjoyed myself the whole time I was reading it. In true Whitney G fashion, the banter between the MCs was the best part of the reading experience!

The best part of this story was the 'meet-cute', which was original and hilarious. Preston is the CEO of the number one luxury hotel chain in the world, and Tara is a law-school grad struggling to not only get a job, but also to eat and pay rent. After their unfortunate meeting, Preston hires Tara as his executive assistant. Right away, the sexual tension swells to combustible levels. Preston is an asshole, but Tara can't help being attracted to him. She also hates him, and I couldn't entirely blame her for it. That being said, I thought she was hard on him at times. I really liked Tara for the most part, but she did have a tendency to be ungrateful. He was an awfully demanding boss, but she was well-compensated and had amazing perks and benefits to go along with the job. I almost felt like she had forgotten where she came from. That being said, Preston could've done a better job of showing her how important she was to him.
I actually found the detailed ins-and-outs of the hotel industry to be quite informative. Still, the slow-burn of their relationship seemed a little long and drawn-out at times. I also thought the explanation behind Preston's coldness would be a little more shocking. He didn't really have the skeletons in his closet that I was imagining, and so his asshole behavior wasn't really excused. However, since I felt like Tara could be a brat at times, it didn't ruin the book for me. Plus, it just made it all the more special when he started to change. There's an unexpected twist towards the end, and it worked to humanize Preston... which was badly needed. All-in-all, this was a sexy, fun book with great banter and even better sex!
