How It Ends
by Rachel Howzell Hall
4.5/5 (Still wishing Goodreads would allow half stars!)
I thought this might make for a good listen on my long rides back and forth to graduate school. Did it ever! The pacing of the story was nice and the plot was more than interesting. I found myself quite invested in Marti Greenwood and her circumstances. Marti is going through a pretty rough divorce and, when she find her perfect return-to-single-life home, she quickly found out that fresh starts aren’t always what we think they are going to be.
Rachel Howzell Hall really has created some quirky and interesting characters for this story. I absolutely love that Marti is a writer who collects antique typewriters that she gives names to. The suspense is there, most definitely, and this kept my curiosity piqued. The narration is nearly spot-on perfect as well.
One word of caution: Some listeners might find some of the content difficult to listen to as it may be potentially triggering, especially for those who have witnessed or been victims of violence. Please take care while listening.
