My first Nicholas Sparks for quite some time. They are just as reader friendly, and accessible as I remember. Colby and Morgan's romance took a very spacious backseat to the suspenseful Beverly. I was worried it would be too much like Safe Haven (which I did really love when I first read it), but luckily it ended up with it's own unique twist at the end. Not to say the twist wasn't predictable, but it was it's own story, and not a repackaged older book, so I am at least happy with that.
Graphic: Domestic abuse, Mental illness, and Suicide attempt
Moderate: Child death, Suicide, and Injury/Injury detail
Minor: Child abuse and Drug abuse
