White Nights by Fyodor Dostoevsky

3.5 ⭐️

the plot of this book is very simple; a man falls in love with a woman who has eyes for someone else. yet, dostoevsky is able to beautifully and perfectly encapsulate what it is to be a lonely, hopeless romantic dreamer—one who exists in their imagination of unrequited love. it is also very easy to read and engaging and overall a great book for dostoevsky beginners.
