Melodic writing that is a tranquil sort of monotone that builds into high tension, slow build relationships and mounting tension, beautiful depictions of the nature of animals, and just enough world-building and plot to fully enrapture a reader. I love that the author trusts us as readers to fill in the blanks in regard to the world and the characters relationships while leading us on a compelling, straightforward story with a heart-wrenching end.
