Lavender Lady by Carola Dunn

I really enjoyed this - it felt very Heyer-ish and those are always my favourite types of historicals. I can see why the author says it's consistently her best selling book of all her Regencies.

The plot is delightful, the characters are charming and it's very well written - there's not a jarring sentence in it. It's a bit Sprig Muslin crossed with Frederica with a charming and winsome hero and an attractive female lead.

A real breath of fresh air after a couple of disappointing Regencies from the M C Beaton backcatalogue.
