The female main character can really make or break a book/story for me.

I didn't like Lex. For a supposedly smart woman, she's actually pretty stupid and self-absorbed.

I was okay with Dylan in the first half but when the main conflict happened which he didn't deny and wasn't cleared up in the book, I lost my respect for him. I'm even puzzled how Lex made up with him without talking and making him explain what he did.

I finished it though and that feels like an achievement.

Also, to me Ava wasn't painted in a good light in this book. She didn't seem to have a redeeming quality so I don't know why the author thought it's a good idea to give her her own book.

Writing style/voice-wise? Nothing special. So I'm not convinced to read other books by the same author.
