I was taken by the intriguing premise! A woman believes her in-laws are possessed by demons after they moved into a fancy neighbourhood. Cue her seeking a priest's help, teaming up with a questionable character, and unwittingly roping in her innocent best friend. This is a comedy-horror which reminds me of the TV show Lucifer (but with more snark and wittiness). The story is fast-paced and humorous with plenty of banter between the characters. There are some fun scenes that tackle common horror tropes like exorcism and possession.

Unfortunately, I wasn't invested in the main character. She doesn't have any character growth and ends the story with the same mindset and attitude she had from the start. There's also a running joke about her mispronouncing an Asian character's name, and the character calls her out because she manages to get even demons' names right. But because the character excuses her mistake, she continues using the wrong name! It stopped being funny and felt more like a microaggression by that point. I think I would have loved this book more if it's from the point of view of the actual demon.
