3 stars. This started off so strong and was really good. The plot was strong and held my interest right from the start. And then Rasmira met Soren and Iric and it took a nosedive from there for me. Rasmira is a badass and I really enjoyed her character. She’s strong, prickly, smart, and very likable. She didn’t need the forced and awkward romance with Soren and I really could’ve done with them just being friends as I thought that’s when they were at their best.
Soren wasn’t a bad character but there wasn’t anything interesting about him and he didn’t seem to fit with Rasmira. Iric was just annoying to me. I couldn’t stand him and he felt very much like a tagalong. I liked his story about his romance back home though.
I don’t know. I liked the beginning and the ending was pretty cool but the middle was so boring to me. Not a bad read at all and it’s well written but I’ve yet to be blown away by this author’s work though I really want to be.
