The Magic of The Lamp
by Lorelei Johnson
The Magic of The Lamp was a fun retelling of Aladdin. In it, we meet Aladdin, Jafar, and you guessed it - Jasmine! Now this isn't my first retelling of Aladdin and I'm hoping that it won't be my last either.
Yes, sometimes I do like Jafar and Jasmine ending up together. Mostly when it's a dark romance because I just don't see Aladdin winning in that department. Then again, if it's a nice light retelling then Aladdin would definitely be a winner.
Not being a fan of love triangles, it was pretty hard to figure out who I wanted Jasmine to be with. Yes, she had chemistry with both guys. I just found myself really wanting her and Jafar together. This Jafar was completely perfect for her. The sexual tension was so freaking good. I'm sure Aladdin would have blushed during a certain scene or two.
If we get more dark deliciousness in the next tantalizing tales' book, then I will definitely drop everything and jump into it. Especially if its available on KU.
