A deeply stirring, wild, and reflective piece of writing — an endless unspooling of memory and survival, of the realization of God and of what lies beyond and within nature that's larger than any religion, any attempt at survival, any attempt at colonization. Dark, glittering with deeply poetic and enchanting writing and the wavering vignettes of a fever dream.

I'll carry this book with me for a long time, though I think it's perhaps going to be best read none too often: all the better to linger with the myriad layers of what it hints at, sly as a shrinking fish.
