Dracula by Bram Stoker
5.0

I never get tired of reading "Dracula".

This time, in honor of Halloween 2013, I treated myself to an Audio Book version featuring Tim Curry and Alan Cumming among the very talented narrators. It was indeed an unabridged reading rather than a dramatization with a specific narrator assigned to read the diaries and correspondences of the different characters. All the narrators were excellent (with one exception) and greatly enhanced my enjoyment of this wonderful classic.

The one exception: the narrator who read for Mina. To me her voice sounded like that of a middle-aged woman rather than a young woman in her early 20's, but that wasn't a deal-killer. However, whenever she would read the quotes of Van Helsing recorded by Mina, her accent was really over the top and annoying. But, even worse, when she "did the voice" of the old man that she and Lucy often met and spoke with at the bench in the churchyard, it was like daggers stabbing my ears.

Other than these minor annoyances, I really enjoyed this Audible Audio Book and would recommend it.
