Rescue and Jessica: A Life-Changing Friendship by Jessica Kensky, Patrick Downes

A fantastic book, inspired by a true story,  that taught our kids about service dogs and their work as well as some of the hardships people who become amputees might endure.

Our 5 year old was extra interested after having seen someone with a prosthetic at summer camp this week. It was a great way to start conversations about curiousity being ok but not necessarily needing to be fulfilled and showing him that even though our bodies may be different in some ways all people deserve respect and privacy.

We really enjoyed this book; a great disability pride month read!
