I found myself going to my music apps to look up songs as I read this. Maybe in parts I wanted more biography than song lyrics. Dolly talks about the lyrics or who she collaborated with or what was going on in her life when she wrote each song in the book in a page or two summary.
maybe the title songteller should have given me a better idea that it would be moderately biographical but not a full biography.
