Think Again by Jacqueline Wilson
3.0

Very Jacqueline Wilson style. Loved the adult POV though why do all of the characters pretty much suck apart from the protagonist, her adult kid, and the love interest?

The straight men all try and control her... I feel many of their behaviours are not true of all 'middle aged men' in 2024. There are decent men in their 40s-60s, I'm sure. Also... I don't care that it's been nearly 30 years, a teacher contacting a woman he used to teach to date her out the blue is a bit... creepy. Especially as he clearly cannot forget the pupil she used to be. It would've been different if it was a chance encounter, neither remembering the other until one of them, after a date or two makes the connection but neither of them can forget the teacher/pupil relationship and the fact that they both want to date with that between them... they both need help.

If there's a sequel, I hope she finds some guy friends that do not suck. Having said that, you don't often get a story that focuses on a 'middle aged' woman, her friends and her relationships. I love it for that.
