The Spy and the Traitor: The Greatest Espionage Story of the Cold War by Ben Macintyre
4.0
A gripping story with lots of entertaining insights into the reality of the way MI6 and the KGB operated.
It was written more in the style of a dramatic documentary than a straightforward history book, so it worked well as an audiobook. This also made it very engaging and easy to read, but sometimes there were descriptions of how people were thinking and feeling just stated as fact, and that made me suspicious.
I was surprised by how little there was at the end about the fallout between MI6 and the CIA over the Ames debacle. I suppose that's a story for other books
