An ambitious set of linked short stories tracking the story of Earth thousands and thousands of years into the future. I like the whimsy of Simak, his funny robots, dogs, ants, and mutants. The science is obviously mad and unrealistic but that in itself is quite interesting. I did prefer the simplicity of the other Simak book I read over this as a reading experience, but writing this in the 40s this would have been wild to read.
