Lady Sophie's Christmas Wish by Grace Burrowes

5.0

I really liked this book. Sophie had managed to get a few days completely to herself in her parents' home without anyone else around. She ended up with an abandoned baby and was rescued by Vim Charpentier. Thanks to the storm, and the fact she knew nothing about caring for a baby, she was able to talk Vim into staying at the house with her and helping her with the baby. Neither of them had told the other who they really are, so there are no social expectation. The more time they spend together, the more they come to care for each other and for baby Kit. When Sophie and Vim are discovered by her brothers, things start to get interesting. Vim has bad memories of an encounter with Sophie's father, and feels that will keep him from being able to court Sophie as he would like. Sophie doesn't want to marry for anything except love, and has not heard those words from Vim. I enjoyed seeing the brothers start to behave a bit more like their father, with his interference. I knew there would be a happy ending, but the process made for a good story.
