Dreamland Burning by Jennifer Latham
4.0
Dreamland Burning totally lived up to the hype for me!
During construction, a body is found in Rowan's backyard. As she learns more about who it might be, we flash back to Will - a half white - half Indian teenager who is alive during the Tulsa race riots and finds himself in the middle of the action. As always, reading again about a terrible event in history is heartbreaking - but reading about it from his unique perspective was even more compelling.
At the same time, Rowan is changed by what she learns about what happened at her home and through challenging experiences that are happening present day. I found Will's parts the most compelling, but hers do add to the overall story. Great read!
