Comment Comprendre Israël En 60 Jours, Ou Moins by Sarah Glidden

4.0

I've taken the same Birthright Israel guided tour as Glidden. Mine was "the Canadian Israel experience".
I might have had some of the same guides.
I'm pretty sure I had the same bus driver.

Reading this was such a trip. My experience on Birthright wasn't as happy as Glidden's.

Within the book Glidden had this international dialogue of "Is Birthright trying to brainwash me".
My trip was... It involved more brainwashing. It involved less space for questions and more conversations that were abruptly ended.

I wonder how much Glidden spoke out during her trip. I wonder what would have happened if she had more conversations.

Also..she claimed she read hundreds of pages before the trip which strikes me as... Odd. That's... not a lot of pages. I would love a little more about how Glidden developed her perspective on Israel before the trip.

I enjoyed this a lot because, as a liberal culturally Jewish person, I share a lot of the same feelings about Israel as Glidden. It was.. oddly validating to read this account. I would love to read more personal stories like this.
