The Distance of the Moon by Italo Calvino
(Elaine's copy, with a fold in the front cover)
Some pleasant, amusing and engaging short stories which make for good bedtime reads. Only complaint is that they are undermined by their masculine-centric perspectives and reproductions of gender myths. There's an existential undertone that gradually gains form until it implodes in the final story, which is also the best.
