To break down my issues with this book to the most important aspects:
- many arguments made here have a similar structure like this: "My chair has four legs. This thing has four legs, therefore it is a chair."
- the way this author describes his self-invented neurological diagnosis, is how ADHD works neurologically
- many of the used sources are not from actual medical journals or the similar (some of them are even very biased websites)
- It is illogical to have issues with the diagnostic process for ADHD but not with the one for autism, especially if the main issue is the questionnaire
- Just because there are options for misdiagnosis, it does not mean that ADHD does not exist. This is also why there are normally additional screenings for other issues while undergoing diagnosis process.
Additionally for German readers:
The whole situation here feels like a symptom of how bad the American health system works.
