The Cater Street Hangman by Anne Perry

3.0

I enjoyed this quite a bit but was pretty horrified to find I unknowingly started a series with 20+ books to it. Not what I need! Charlotte was a really interesting female lead for this time period and I enjoyed her growth over the course of the book. Her struggle between what society expects of her and who she wants to be is very apparent and well developed. I considered three or four different suspects at different times through the book but really wasn't sure of the guilty party until quite close to the end. Although I definitely didn't suspect those motives! I'd be tempted to read another but I'm not sure I want to get more involved with so many books in the series.
