I've finished this book yesterday, but decided to sleep on it before I write down my thoughts. After a day my feelings didn't change much. It wasn't a horrible read, but it was bad.
The story was fine, I did like the premise and the main heroes (Faith more than Joe); since reading "Doctor's Delight" I have a soft spot for stories revolving around hired escorts (oh my!). Unfortunately this one lacked the charm of "Doctor's Delight". The characters were sometimes almost cartoonish in their behavior. My biggest disappointment was the big climax of the Sophie/Joe arch. She was presented and build as one of the biggest villains of the book, but the final act of her storyline felt incredibly awkward and silly. I felt the author rushed it, and just throw together the most cliched ideas. I don't have problems with cliches, in fact I like them. But here a good opportunity to add tension and drama (and to make the ending sweeter) was wasted.
