Such an important book. Chanel Miller, the victim in the widely publicised Stanford university rape case, reclaims her story and her voice. This is not just an account of the events of the assault, but also of the court case and of the writing of this book. Throughout, the reader gets to see Chanel's state of mind at the different stages of her experience, and it is a powerful reminder of the depth of trauma victims of sexual assault experience in the years that follow. This book is also a call to arms - policies and procedures within universities and the justice system must change to truly protect the vulnerable. I would also like to add that Chanel Miller is truly an author - this book is well-written and I look forward to reading anything she writes in the future. #betheswede
