Convenience Store Woman by Sayaka Murata

3.0

It's a page turner but good. The writing style is basic- deadpan with common elements that characterise deadpan writing. Nothing out of the ordinary. The first person pov keeps it going alright. What it lacks in style, it makes up for in substance. An 'unconventional' woman in a conservative society tries to do understand why certain things are not considered as "normal human behaviour". Why such people are expurgated from the society? Deeply philosophical. Rather one dimensional characters but still a good read.
