"He always thought of the sea as la mar which is what people call her in Spanish when they love her."

I've been meaning to read this for ages and enjoyed it quite a lot. The writing, while not my favorite, was compelling and easy to read. The story was more of a character study than anything else, which I find interesting, and some of the descriptions were quite beautiful.

An enjoyable read that I will probably revisit in the future.
