I enjoyed this more when I re-read it so I've updated my rating from 3 to 4 stars.

Initially the stories of Felix and Mildmay seem completely unconnected. They don't even hear of each other until about 1/3 of the way through and it takes another 1/3 before they meet. However, now I know the connection I wasn't impatient. Instead, I enjoyed seeing the commonalities between their their stories and how they gradually intertwined.

This book is told alternatively from Mildmay's and Felix's point-of-view. Normally I dislike this method of storytelling as I get interested in how one plot line is going only to have the author drop it and switch to the other plot line. However, the author here doesn't switch viewpoints on a chapter by chapter basis. Instead, the viewpoint typically shifts every few pages, sometimes even oftener. A little frenetic, but it meant I never felt like I was missing out on any of the action.
