This book is truly a story of grit, will, and pure spite.
Most of the events take place over one day, though there is some lead up to it. It reads like a true thriller, one that you definitely cannot put down.
Briar is an amazing protagonist, and despite the dire circumstances there are quite a few funny and sweet moments. It's described as a genderbent medeavil Die hard and honestly its even better than that sounds. The relationship between Briar and Alaric is adorable.
Theres lasting consquences to a bloody night, no one gets to brush off life threatening injuries. You get a real sense of the story going on after the last words of the book.
A great epic, full of blood and rage.
