wow, what to say about this. the first half is a 6/5 for me. i really enjoyed the dual POVs we got between son and mother. up until

Mamoru’s death

the book is moving, moving, moving and I loved it.

However, even the battle itself is a bit of a slog for me. I felt like the book just kept goingggggg and I wanted it to wrap up. While I appreciate the eventual character development we get in this half, but it just takes a bit long to get there.
