This is the first time I've read a secretary romance, and I found it much more endearing than the governess trope since they're on more equal footing.
I loved these two together, though the lack of communication and the insistence on trying to disipate their urges with others was a bit hard to read. I loved that Penelope was always so in control; knowing exactly what she was getting into, and putting boundaries down where she wanted them. I also loved the meddling family.
Although I found the ball scene a little cringy to read post-announcement, it was short and I was happy to move past it. All-in-all, this was a solidly good read.
