A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah J. Maas

4.0

don't get me wrong, this book was amazing. but, again, this series is missing something. i don't quite know what, but it doesn't pierce its way through the pages like other books i've read. you grow to adore the characters and the adventures they go through, but it's repetitive. steady, healthy relationships are shown (along with a...not so healthy one), which is very much appreciated. i like the individuality everyone has and the main relationship is written well. overall, feyre is written as a human person with emotions, and that's one of my favorite parts of the series. a lot of the times, you see fantasy/ya/dystopia novels with protagonists written as hollow shells or unrealistically emotional. neither of those things are bad per-say, but feyre is written with complex, conflicting and understandable feelings and thought processes. she was relatable and really fun to get to know.
