Rat Queens, Vol 2: The Far Reaching Tentacles of N'rygoth by Kurtis J. Wiebe

5.0

I don't have much to say about this series except that I love it. So much. It's a group of four women of varied backgrounds and personalities who have an amazing friendship and who all kick major ass. Female friendship is something that, in my opinion, is severely lacking in books in general so it is always great to see female characters have those amazing and deep friendships. These characters are by no means perfect, which is even better because it just adds to how how one as a reader can relate to them, despite their being from a fantasy world. They are written with depth, they are unapologetic, they embrace their sexuality and are everything I want in the female characters in the books I read.

To me, these characters are super feminist without falling into any of the cliches of being so. These graphic novels are HILARIOUS, there is so much diversity in everything from sexuality to race and it is so refreshing to see how seamlessly all of these things come together to make a great story. The pacing is great for the story and the art is amazing. I can't think of anything negative I have to say about these graphic novels, I already cannot wait to read Vol.3.
