Fierce: How Competing for Myself Changed Everything by Aly Raisman

5.0

I love memoirs and auto-biographies, and this is one of the best ones I've read. It was always very interesting and something I wanted to continue reading. I appreciated Aly's openness and vulnerability in sharing her story. As a fan of gymnastics (but not a gymnast myself), I love watching the beautiful routines, especially floor, but I always wonder what's going on in the head of the athlete and behind-the-scenes, and this book did an awesome job of explaining this. I thought Aly had a lot of insight and very valuable points about both what it is to be a gymnast and just how to live your life, and although the book would likely be more interesting if you know who Aly is or are a fan of gymnastics, I think this could be an enjoyable and useful book for many people.
