My first foray with any of Heaney's work, and I was happily surprised by the comfort and revelation of his voice and style. The first book, Death of a Naturalist was my favorite of the four and Wintering Out was my least favorite. My favorite poem was Mid-Term Break - one of the most heartbreaking endings to a poem that exists. I own this collection on audio, read by Heaney himself, and it's excellent.
