LMAOO you get into chapter one and you get hit with the lines "Men are motivated when they feel needed while women are motivated when they feel cherished" (11). Pretty clear how the narrative will satiate a sense of male smugness and overshadow crucial socialization dynamics between men and women.
Skimming through the book, the author essentially basis arguments upon the lines of 'men are individuals, and us strong masculine MEN must understand the uninformed and confusing females'. That's it. The entire dynamic this book relies on the assumption that individuality, logic, and reasoning are exclusive to Manly Men. On the other hand, waaaaa futile and submissive women need help understanding Men's needs!!
Overall, pretty cringe. Feels like this whole book was written to validate skewed relationship dynamics between men and women while using the author's Ph.D. to justify personal values as fact. Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus is ultimately a work for perpetuating sexism and reducing men's accountability in relationships
