I've been a fan of Tom Waits for some 15 years now, hell, we share a birthday! But this ain't it.
Going into it, I didn't know it wasn't an authorized biography, so finding that out made the process of reading harder. The first half was fine, mostly the stuff that was already well known, but the other half was a mess.
Also, my issue with the author is his need to impose his own opinions about particular songs or albums. If you're writing a biography, try to keep it objective, you're ruining it for everyone.
