Outlander by Diana Gabaldon

4.0

This book was an adventure. I really enjoyed it, and I like that the author did not put any holds on some of the historical parts of the book. Some of them were painful and hard to read through, but that is the reality of life. Outlander is very realistic, and has a relationship that changes and grows with its characters. They seemed real, because they were far from perfect, and they were just trying to do their best. Diana Gabaldon does not put anything in this book that she doesn't use later. Everything has a purpose in this book, and if she put that detail in, it will most likely make an appearance again at some point. Her descriptions are fantastic, and she really brought you into this world.
Definitely a lot of fun and good read. I really recommend this, especially if you are tired of the always happy and unrealistic historical fiction. This one definitely feels real.
