*** Part of my journey to re-read all Discworld novels in order ...
... except I apparently never read this one before! ***
The 10th Discworld novel dives deep into the "magic of Holly Wood" and draws a satiric parallel to the fame, greed, and falsity of our equivalent in the real world. There were fantasy aspects, which were perfectly interwoven into the story, and I loved all the nods and references to both movies and film studios.
It's also the first appearance of my two favorite wizards: Ponder Stibbons and Mustrum Ridcully. All of the wizards were more fleshed out in this book than the previous ones, and made for some fun moments, as were Gaspode the Wonder Dog and Good Boy Laddie.
While the main characters sadly weren't that interesting once again (and the female "lead" was not well written), the overall story and parallels to the real world made it an enjoyable read.
The audiobook was - as always - a delight!
