Absolutely loved the way the story was crafted and told through the characters' different POVs. I approached this as Chinese martial-arts-esque fantasy because that's what I heard about the book, but as I realised when I finished it's a retelling of a famous Chinese classic so what appears as fantasy to me is probably more a case of cultural/spiritual elements that appear otherworldly. Either way, thorougly enjoyable with great storytelling, strong character development and queer themes.
