Did not finish book. Stopped at 8%.

okay i started this and haven't picked it up again. i gave it another chance and my god is it cringe. this is the first book in my whole life that had me physically cringing, i had to LOOK AWAY from the page because it was so awful. 

Here's an example: 

"i mean not to be too modern or whatever, but it all seems pretty fucking queer to me" (personal but i hate the word queer (yes i'm a lesbian)) 

"i lurk hard online"

"there's a subreddit, too" 

this book is a mess, I'm sorry. it could've been so good if it was only the flashback story but the modern story is just another universe cringe for me. I can't do it.
