The Bridge of San Luis Rey by Thornton Wilder
4.0

A satisfying, quick read. It reminded me of some of the Latin American authors I've read - Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Isabel Allende - although it didn't use magic realism, at least not to the extent that those others did. The characters reminded me a lot of Marquez's characters, although I realize that this book predates Marquez.
