I loved ready player one but this book just didn't do it for me. All of the nerd culture references that worked so well before just seemed too forced and over the top. I didn't identify or connect with any of the characters and it just seemed really disjointed. Honestly if I read this book first I would have never tried his first novel. I think he was trying too hard to repeat what worked so well the first time round. All that to say, go read ready player one and skip this one.
