With You All the Way by Cynthia Hand

With You All the Way is just what I like a YA Contemporary Romance to be.

Love (or is it?), drama, family issues, all the ‘usual’ stuff in a YA Romance, but also looking at sex, consent, maturity, and complex mother-daughter relationships.

It is a well-written easy read, engaging, and intriguing but without the need for a lot of brainpower to process – which was just what I needed right now! You can flow along with the plot and just enjoy.

I liked the dynamics and interactions between Ada, Afton, and their mother. Little Abby was a cute addition too. Although I guessed the twist in the story early on I still enjoyed reading it play out.

With some awkward and cringey moments reminiscent of 90’s teen movies I feel this will appeal to readers, making them laugh and empathise with the characters.

Due to some of the sexual content, I would advise it for the upper end of YA readers.

Thank you to Edelweiss+ and HarperTeen for the e-arc to review.
