The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett

3.0

I was really excited to read this book. The cover and synopsis grabbed my attention from the beginning. But it felt short for me and did not live to my expectations. I felt myself dragging through this book and actually had to put it down a few times because at points it was uninteresting.

I was finally able to finish the book. The ending was not very interesting or exciting and I was left confused, wanting more. I did like how they return back to Adele at the end because it was making a full circle, going back to the beginning of where the twins history started, but I expected more.

I understand the purpose of the book is to tell readers about the problems that these characters go through and how they are all interconnected without wanting to ask for help from each other or show weaknesses. But it just felt short. I really did enjoy the parts where it told about Jude’s life. She was my favorite character. As well as Kennedy and Desiree.
