The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid

3.75

it wasn’t boring reading this book, but it also wasn’t anything more. plot twist was interesting. ending disappointing tbh.
i feel like Monique didn’t do justice with revealing probably the most important thing in Evelyn’s life in a foreword to a magazine??? likeeee i feel like with the legend on the same level as Evelyn Hugo you have to keep everyone guessing. let me just say that if for example Paul Mccartney decided to also do the same biography thing that Evelyn Hugo did, i surely wouldn’t want to be spoiled in a foreword about his affair with John Lennon or anything. i mean let me find it out while reading??? or idk at least Paul didn’t cover an accident (WHEN HE WAS IN THE ONE jk don’t believe shit they’re saying about 1966 my boy did some heavy drugs that’s all)

that’s the thing with Taylor Jenkins Reid - her writing is not boring, her stories are also not boring, but they are missing something hugeeeee. i’m
not sure what’s that, maybe it’s just my preferences, that’s all. whatever, i was excited to read this book and i’m glad i did. but i don’t think i will read more of this author’s works in the future.
