The Prey of Gods
by Nicky Drayden
Based on the last two five star reviews I’ve given, I’ve found that my favorite type (or one of my favorite types) of books is a story of multiple characters, who seemingly have nothing to do with each other, coming together and doing some badass stuff. I especially love it when the ending is unsatisfactory or leaves room for a lot of interpretation.
The Prey of Gods is absolutely incredible and I was hooked from, quite literally, the first page. It was action packed and hilarious. And the queer rep was just *chef’s kiss*. I’m a fan of weird/unconventional uses of imagery and language, so if you’re also into that I think you’ll be fascinated with Drayden’s storytelling in the same way that I am. Really excited to read more of her work.
