The Marriage Wager
by Candace Camp
Very classic, pleasant regency romance, told exclusively from the heroine's point of view - with the occasional foray into the POV of a third party - and featuring a lot of shopping and clothing descriptions. Camp has a tendency to introduce a billion characters and this was no exception but it's early enough that we didn't have five million couples we needed to be introduced to in the meantime.
